Project Engineer Fixed Term Contract Ref SBBS0017 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Broadband Services Category Other Engineering Technical Position Staff Context SES is currently hiring on a fixed term basis a Project Engineer with an opportunity to convert the position into a permanent role after six months. As a Project Engineer of SES Broadband Services, you are supporting and managing projects, in the area of ground engineering operations as well as satellite communication platforms. The role includes an active cross departmental work and you are responsible for selecting people and managing project teams of SES internal people andor external contractors. Supporting the Product Development department, you coordinate developments among different vendors and lead integration activities into the existing ground infrastructure. You also work on the positioning of new broadband products and services in the field as well as on new distribution schemes such as subdistribution. Responsibilities Responsible for the establishment and technical execution of new products and related requirements and definitions. Analyze competition and recommend product positioning and development strategies. Act as a Sales engineer to the Sales and Commercial Development groups. Interact with Technical Services, Technical Department groups as well as Customers to ensure appropriate feedback to and from the clients regarding technical matters. Manage manufacturervendor relationships by ensuring the most competitive sourcing of technology and developments. Ensure product availability and compatibility with clients commercial and technical requirements. Initiate, prepare and lead product training activities. Promote awareness and create demand for relevant products through customer visits, product demos etc. at events, conferences and other suitable occasions. Experience Qualifications Engineering degree telecommunication or electrical engineering Minimum 3 years of professional industry relevant experience. Fluency in German and English French being considered as an additional asset Uptodate knowledge of the commercial aspects of broadband and telecommunication services with a solid technology background. Expertise in satellite based networks such as VSAT networks. Strong Expertise in IP based networks such as Wifi networks. Strong analytical skills, ability to produce meaningful competitive analysis and recommendations of technical solutions Able to coordinate internal and external partners to deliver product developments and innovation. Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
