Project Manager Ref SES0517 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Other Engineering Technical Position Staff Published 20141221 Context SES Techcom services is levering on the technical expertise accumulated within the SES Group by operating satellites for more than 25 years and provides technical services to the Satellite Industry on a worldwide basis. As Project Manager of SES TechCom, you are both supporting the attraction and responsible for the successful management and realisation of projects. You will also responsible for identifying the required resources and will manage the various internalexternal contractors and suppliers in an integrated approach towards the Customers. Your mission consists in the successful realization of projects that will support SES TechCom to become a leading supplier of technical productsservices, systems and applications in the field of satelliterelated engineering and operations. Responsibilities Support the attraction of contracts by supporting the various request for proposal phases like proposal preparation, proposal handover and negotiation, contract setup. Either support or be responsible to o Design, specify and implement Satellite Control Systems e.g. RF TTC systems including the tracking antennas, Baseband and control room systems, Satellite ranging systems, transportable or mobile uplink or receiveonly stations. o Design, specify and manage the integration of measurement and monitoring control systems including IOT and MC Systems o Design, specify and implement oneway and twoway satellite communication platformssystems o Managerealize other telecommunications related projects o Collect customer requirements, set up cost budgets, handle procurements, manage installations, document systems and prepare the handover to Customers. o Contribute or manage the setup of costpricing templates in the frame of proposal setup and with respect to contract realizations. Use professional project management tools as appropriated to report and document project progress Coordinate with other functions Project Control, Legal, Finance for the transparent and effective realization of assigned projects Followup of delivered systems during lifetime operations and more specifically during warranty periods Manage customer relationships Support the yearly preparation of SES TechCom Operational Expenses budgets Provide reporting inputs when required Followup the market w.r.t. products, services and systems of interest for SES TechComs business Promote the SES TechCom Products and Services in the Satellite Industry and Satellite Communication Markets. Travel as required for promotion and project realization purposes Experience Qualifications Have a university degree in RF, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent Minimum 5 years of working experience in engineering and implementing telecommunications systems Experience of having worked with institutional customers and international organizations would be considered as an asset Have excellent and proven project management experience Be able to integrate into andor lead crossfunctional project teams Have good communication capabilities, analytical sense, selfstarting qualities, coordination and priority setting abilities Proactive approach towards potential customers Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Fluency in English any other language is considered an asset Experienced in the daily usage of office and communication software Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Project !!!
