The Research, Technology Development and Innovation RTDI Project Officer assists the RTDI Project Manager and is in charge of the following tasksduties To support from a technical and scientific point of view the implementation of RTDI activities mainly in the framework of RI projects related to Earth Observation To support the design and development of tools and services related to the management and exploitation of Big Geospatial Data in the Space and Security domain To support the execution of RI projects and initiatives including writing of proposals, deliverables and reports as well as liaising with partners when required To support the establishment and implementation of use cases, user scenarios, demo and pilot services To perform any other duties assigned by the RTDI Project Manager or by the Head of Capability Development Division. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Secondary education in a relevant field such as Physical Sciences, Computer Science or Engineering attested by a diploma or equivalent qualification A minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience Experience in RI projects preferably in the Horizon 2020 framework Knowledge of Earth Observation EO principles and tools covering the whole data chain Knowledge of programming languages suitable for the implementation of EO applications and services e.g. Java, Python Knowledge of remote sensing data processing and webGIS development e.g. Openlayers, HTML, Javascript Knowledge of main aspects of RI projects Excellent command of English and knowledge of another EU language Desirable Knowledge of technologies and methods for handling and processing of Big Geospatial Data Knowledge of EObased applications and services in the Space and Security domain Knowledge of European Space Programmes such as Copernicus Knowledge of main EO data platforms e.g. EC Copernicus DIAS, ESA TEPs and GEO GCI Knowledge of the institutional framework of the EU preferably in the CFSP field.
