UK Location with some European travel Our client is a new European space launch company with backing from several of Europes largest venture capital investors. We are recruiting two forwardthinking propulsion design engineers for exciting spaceflight development roles based in the United KingdomEurope. We are seeking motivated, experienced rocket engine turbopump design engineers to work on a new class of turbopump for an orbital space launch vehicle. The system you design will be a critical, integral part of the main propulsion system. You will probably be a highly experienced aerospace propulsion engineer, working in a slowmoving environment that rarely gives you a chance to see your work in action. You will be eager for a fastpaced opportunity that offers exceptional freedom and responsibility, as well as the chance to create a critical component on a European space launch vehicle. Role Turbopump Design Engineer x 2 Start date JulyAugust 2018 ASAP Workplace UKEurope Travel Occasional within Europe Your responsibilities will include Design, analysis and manufacture of a new class of rocket engine turbopump Integration into main propulsion cycle Testing qualification programme development and execution Technical support of operational campaigns Experience Biprop rocket engine propulsion experience, closed cycle systems preferable Cryogenic propellants, materials and sealing technology Turbomachinery design experience, cryogenic experience preferable Centrifugal pump design, impeller, inducer, volute, bearings, seals and mounts. Designs for cryogenic fluids, including liquid oxygen. Reaction turbine design and implementation CAD CFD experience, Solidworks Ansys preferred Additive manufacturing experience Turbomachinery ground testing and qualification including ground support equipment and test facility design You will probably have these core attributes Minimum of a bachelors degree in aerospace engineering or a related field 48 years of rocket engine turbomachinery hardware development experience Fluency in use of CAD CFD techniques to model and analysis the system A flexible and dedicated mindset We are looking experienced candidates who can demonstrate they get things done with a pragmatic attitude and reliable results.
