This newly created position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manufacturing engineer to join Rocket Labs Propulsion Team. As Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer you will work with the team to develop and improve the production of Rocket Labs Rutherford Engine components and assemblies. Working closely with the RD team in Auckland you will also interact daily with Rocket Labs Production Facility in Huntington Beach, USA, as well as working with a global network of suppliers. Key tasks will include troubleshooting of detail component defects up to developing new assembly tooling fixtures and procedures and working with the design team to improve production time and quality. Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer Key Responsibilities Perform manufacturability reviews on new designs Develop new and review existing production processes for precision machined parts, additive manufactured parts, fabricated parts and o assemblies Work alongside design engineers and supply chain to bring newly developed hardware into production to meet flight schedule Achieve production ready date from design freeze date Proactively identify opportunities for quality improvements or costefficiency reductions Reactively troubleshoot and resolve production quality, cost and delivery issues Work with technicians and other engineers performing production to create simple and easy to interpret processes Support the design and test teams in qualification testing of new designs Develop production acceptance testing process and equipment based on qualification testing requirements Minimum requirements A degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification 10 years of experience in manufacturing or production environments Proficient knowledge in Solidworks or equivalent CAD program experience Strong Document management system experience Manual and CNC machining experience Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes The ability to take a prototype into production Lean manufacturing experience Hands on experience About Rocket Lab Rocket Labs mission is to revolutionize the way we access space.
