Function You will analyse and process images satellite, aeroplane, UAV, including atmospheric and geometric corrections. You will report your results to the client and represent VITO in user forums and at scientific meetings. You will define and implement classification algorithms specifically designed for applications relating to nature protection and environmental monitoring. You will work closely with current and potential clients and formulate solutions based on earth observations together. You will publish research results in reputable scientific journals. You will make an active contribution to VITOs existing image processing chains. Profile You are an Engineer BioCivil or MasterDoctor of Science and have project management experience in the fields of earth observationgeoinformation. Programming experience and excellent knowledge of image processing andor GIS are essential. Knowledge regarding the preparation of vegetation and landuse charts and radiative transfer models is an advantage. You can work well with statistics. You will contribute to project acquisition in the topics in which you are involved. You have an interest in field work and can adapt easily. You have an analytical mind and distinctive creativity. You are a team player who communicates well and is skilled in making contacts. You have outstanding written skills. Excellent knowledge of English is essential.
