Contract, Approximately 23 days per week for 12 months Astroscale is seeking to employ an experienced and motivated RF Engineer to work on key projects, which are based in the Harwell, UK offices. The work is foreseen to take place over a 12month contract but could result in a permanent position at the end of that period. Flexible working arrangements are available, but regular team working at the UK offices is expected. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing company seeking to make a positive contribution to the growing problem of orbital debris that endangers mankinds continued use of space as an asset. The candidate will primarily work on UK office based projects, but they may need to interact with teams across Astroscales Global Offices as needed in support of Astroscale projects and operations. Responsibilities Producing link budgets. Perform modelling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements. Performing near field analyses including field of view and multipath for various antenna configurations. Supporting frequency licensing process. Ensure compliance with appropriate standards and regulations. Define tests to validate performance of antennaRF designs. Support the business development team with customer engagements and solutions. Develop test plans to identify test approach, resources, schedules and cost estimates that meet applicable requirements, standards and regulations. Essential Skills Bachelor or masters degree in a relevant subject e.g. Electronics, communications. Strong experience in design and development of spacecraft RF subsystems. Experience in modelling and simulating RF spacetoground links. Experience in frequency licensing constraints ITU for old and new space applications. Be eligible and registered to work within the UK and Europe. Desired Skills Good knowledge of satellite communications systems design. Experience of RF circuits, RF systems design, and test. Experience of antenna design and propagation. Detailed understanding of communications link budget analysis and design. Familiarity with ITU regulations and licensing processes. Location Astroscale UK Harwell, with potential for travelling to Astroscale Japan Tokyo.
