Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the project in Noordwijk, NL we are looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer fm at ESTEC. Tasks The general tasks include Radio Navigation system GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO etc. and augmentation EGNOS, WAAS, QZSS etc.. The work includes studies analyses and testing of navigation systemssegmentselementstechnology, dissemination and navigation algorithms, including tools development evaluation of NavigationPositioningTiming algorithm and techniques, usersystemsegment performance assessment based on software simulators, laboratory and field measurements, and support to ESA projects in follow up of industrial procurements. Radio Navigation equipments covering space applications. The work includes study, design, analysis and testing of navigationpositioningrangingmonitoring technology and receiver for space. Radio Navigation space applications performed at ESA include scientific applications atmospheric sounding, oceanic observation, formation flying, rendezvous and attitude determination. Radio Navigation equipments for terrestrial applications. The work includes study, design, analysis and testing of navigation receiverstechnology for terrestrial applications and local augmentation. Radio Navigation terrestrial applications performed at ESA are those related with high performance based on high accuracy e.g. geodesy andor high integrity e.g. civil aviation, maritime. Radio Navigation signals and signal processing. The work includes study, design, analysis and testing of signal and signal processing techniques including toolsequipment development and procurement. It encompasses signal structure, modulations, data dissemination, techniques for error correction, synchronisation, multipath mitigation and estimation, interference mitigation, cancellation, encryption, authentication, etc. Radio Navigation Laboratory equipments. The work includes definition procurement design, testing, usage of Radio Navigation equipment in support to Radio Navigation experiments and test campaigns. The duties of this post will include in particular Supporting and followup the procurements actions and industry contracts with regard to the implementation of elements in the GMS Operational Chain mainly MSF, VTPMTPF, their subsystems and any other relevant facility and relevant deltadevelopment and modifications. Evaluation of contractors GMS element designs as part of the GMS Operational Chain in the areas of monitoring control of Galileo assets, archiving, realtime and offline mission monitoring, mission uplink and control, mission support, training and maintenance, identification of design deficiencies and identification of required solutions. Contribution to all GMS and System reviews and meetings for all topics related to GMS Operational Chain activities. Contribution to the GMS overall Engineering activities Requirements Engineering, Change Management and Baseline evolutions DCPDCNs, assessments of RFDRFWs, HWSW COTS, AIV support etc.. Supporting the assessment of the overall GMS operability and integrated logistic support ILS aspects of the GMS functions including the verification of the related operational procedures and the support to Operations related to operability and ILS aspects. Supporting the Integration, Verification and Qualification IVQ activities in the area of the Operability Chain Facilities ensuring followup and monitoring of Industry IVQ activities and participation to formal verification activities, eg. Credit Collection at element and segment level in the area of the Operational Chain. Support the definition of the definition and preparation of test cases. Essential requirements For the accomplishment of the listed tasks, knowledge of the following is mandatory A University Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Aerospace Engineering Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment. Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, signal processing techniques, and digital navigation receivers Several years experience relevant with the GNSS1 and GALILEO systems and equipment and good knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems Specialisation in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications Background and experience on GNSS navigation performance and spacecraft system engineering Experience in project management and industrial procurement Other information Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required Must be an EU national or possess a valid German Work Residence Permit Planned start date is 01 January 2014 To guarantee that your application is processed, please apply via our website httpwww.scisys.dewhereweworkspacecareersspacejobs.html
