EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. In addition to centrally received global satellite data, EUMETSATs Regional Services provide data from polar orbiting satellites with very high timeliness to the international user community. Regional Services System Engineer REF. VN1417 In this position, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and testing future Regional Services in line with established user requirements. At the same time, you will coordinate engineering support for service maintenance and evolution, remain abreast of the latest technical developments, and forge close links with organisations hosting the reception stations within the regional network. You will also oversee the integration and validation of software packages for the product processing of meteorological satellite instrument data and manage the introduction of upgrades in line with established operational processes. Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline, you will bring experience of system engineering and project management for ground systems development, preferably in the field of earth observation and nearreal time applications. In particular, you should be skilled in coordinating teams within multiproject environments and have experience in every stage of the system engineering lifecycle from design to production, integration, verification and validation. Finally, excellent analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as fluency in English with some knowledge of French are a prerequisite.
