Job Description We are looking for a Remote Sensing Engineer to work as a consultant for our client ESA. You will join a dynamic team that provides Scientific and Engineering support to the EOPS and PhiLab Departments in ESAESRIN. In addition, you will also have the possibility to be involved in the Solenix EO products development activities. Your tasks will include Review and technical evaluation of proposals and technical deliverables Implementation of technical actions on ESA resulting from progress meetings Development of retrieval algorithms and validation approaches for new productsEO applications Provision of technical specifications and contribution to technical standardisation specifications Validation of technical capabilities Technical support to ESA organised events and demonstrations Provision of technical input for contributions to conferences, workshops and communications Technical support in liaison with external bodies eg GEO, CEOS, OGC.. Required Skills and Experience Master degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or scientific discipline e.g. remote sensing, geoinformatics, telecommunications, physics Knowledge of remote sensing, preferably in the SAR domain Minimum 3 years of experience in Remote Sensing product development Experience in data processing, data analysis and statistical methodologies Experience with programming and technical applications Fluent in spoken and written English Teamplayer Proactive, autonomous and with problem solving attitude Desirable Skills and Experience Use of machine learning applied to Remote Sensing Knowledge of European Infrastructures DIAS, exploitation platforms Experience in ESA applied standards e.g. ECSS Technical requirements specification, validation and verification of Software systems Experience in writing scientific and technical documentation, and in delivering technical presentations Work Location Frascati, Italy Application Deadline 17 September 2021 Start Date To be determined Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page How to Apply.
