We are currently looking for a Reprocessing Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Reprocessing Engineer As a member of the Climate Service Team within the Operations and Services to Users Department, the key person shall cooperate with the Remote Sensing and Products, System Engineering and Projects Divisions in the Technical and Scientific Support Departments. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Development and implementation of relevant operational product reprocessing chains, including algorithm processors in the reprocessing environment Software development of operational functional and product quality monitoring procedures for the data set generation monitoring and validation system Acquisition of data to support product quality monitoring Initialisation, control and execution of operations with respect to both data set generation and evaluation activities Validation of products employing the quality monitoring procedures Technical notes, validation reports, user guides and format descriptions Scientific and technical meetings, compilation of results into presentations, support international projects. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in Meteorology or equivalent in similar relevant discipline Measurement uncertainty analysis, validation of satellite products e.g. CDRs Developing scientific software using CC, FORTRAN, IDL Satellite meteorologyoceanography, satellite calibration and intercalibration Scripting languages Python, Perl, Shellscript Unix environment Knowledge of database management MySQL and web application development using GWT, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS Fluency in English is mandatory French language knowledge is an advantage.
