Used to help protect children from gasoline burns, 2015 revision of ASTM International standard F2517, Specification for Determination of Child Resistance of Portable Fuel Containers for Consumer Use, has been included in final rule by U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). According to ASTM's Phil Monckton, 2015 revision stipulates compliance for all accessories, spouts, closures, and other components that can be sold and used on portable fuel container.
