For our activities in ESAC, we are currently looking for a Rosetta Science Operations Scientist. Tasks and Responsibilities Archive support for Rosetta Interact with the PSA coordinator to ensure that Rosetta archive needs are addressed in the area of general PDS and PSA software development. Such interactions shall include the provision of requirements Interact with the PSA Software developer to check the correct implementation of user requirements Aid in the validation of PSA software specific to the Rosetta mission, including DVAL, PRVV APC, Archive interface Interact with the PDS for issues specific to the Rosetta mission archive Interact with and provide support to the PI teams in the area of archive product generation, delivery validation Support the archive product validation process including reviews. Expected output Validated archive deliveries from the PI teams Support to the archive process. Specific tasks relevant to Project Scientist support for Rosetta Provide support to the Rosetta project scientist in his role in tracking the execution of the master science plan versus the actual archived process Provide support to the Rosetta project scientist in his role in ensuring the legacy of the mission through the provision of a populated archive for Rosetta is achieved Provide support to the Rosetta project scientist. Expected output Support to the project scientist in the area of archiving. Specific tasks relevant to Observation Quick Look for Rosetta Provide support to the Observation Quick Look process in the area of tracking successfailure of observations with the delivery of the data for the archive. Expected output Support to the OQL process in the area of archiving. It is foreseen that the candidates may have to travel to ESA establishments and PI institutes, approximately 46 times per year. Requirements The Key Person should have a PhD or Masters Degree in a relevant field and have minimum 15 years of experience. Knowledge of astronomical instrumentation, acquired through astronomical instrument hardware development andor intensive astronomical data reduction exercise Experience and understanding of farinfrared instruments is a distinct advantage Experience in interacting with the scientific community An interest in performing science research with the mission data is considered a plus.
