JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks Support to Flight Dynamics SW development, validation, maintenance and operations in the Science Missions Support and the Earth Observation Missions Support Sections at ESAESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Starting date January 2012. This support is to be provided on Mission Planning, Orbit Determination and Prediction, Orbit Manoeuvre Optimisation and Attitude Determination and Control for the following missions GMES Sentinels, Swarm, Envisat, Goce, Herschel, Planck, INTEGRAL, XMMNewton, Solo, Exomars, Mars Express, Venus Express and Rosetta. Qualifications Computer Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Mathematician, Physicist Required knowledge A minimum of three years professional experience developing software in Java andor other highlevel objectoriented programming languages. At least one year professional experience interfacing Java to relational databases within highlevel frameworks JDBC, Hibernate, Spring Proven experience developing Java webbased applications servlets, JSPs Proven experience developing JavaScript singlepage applications Angular JS, jQuery Solid practical familiarity with modern software engineering practices and tools, including configuration control tools, incremental iterative development, unit and integration testing and the Linux environment Excellent command of the English language very good oral and written communication skills Desirable Knowledge Experience in Javabased desktop GUI programming Familiarity with build tools Makefile, Ant, Maven, Gradle Background in astronomy or astrophysics, especially radio interferometry WHAT DO WE OFFER?
