Safety Engineer Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J06151671 Permanent Full Time Position Description CGI has recently been selected by Inmarsat to develop key Iris Precursor safety and security features that are required for future European air traffic management communications. Inmarsats existing SwiftBroadband will be enhanced with the extra reliability and protection required for safety critical air traffic management ATM operations. CGI is responsible for developing groundbased gateways that will enable the SwiftBroadband system to interface with the European ATM network and incorporate security measures to protect the overtheair communications link from cyber attack. The systems will undergo rigorous validation and verification tests to assure safety and security requirements are met, before entering initial flight trials in 2016. Essential Excellent report writing skills experienced at writing Safety Management Plans A proven track record in the application of hazard analysis and safety risk assessment techniques. Experience of having created and maintained Safety Cases and Safety Arguments Safety Case Reports Experience in applying guidance in DO178BED12C or DO278ED109A to safety software development preferably up to Level C AL3 or 4. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence by reasoned argument Rigorous attention to detail. An eye for the detail with experience of working to precise procedures following a methodical approach Ability to convey safety software lifecycle requirements to rest of development and test team. Excellent client facing skills. Client is based in London and travel for meetings will be necessary.
