For Astrium Space Transportation in Bremen within the area Vehicle Engineering for the department Product Design we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer mf. You will work on general and detailed design activities for equipment, tanks, structures, lines, harness, brackets, etc., taking all design and manufacturing requirements and processes into account, and working in cooperation with mechanical, thermal, functional and electrical engineering. You will perform 3D design using Catia V5VPM, taking the following points into consideration Functional requirements diameter, pressure, temperature, max. pressure drop Movement of the line interfaces temperature, pressure, loads and tolerances Mechanical requirements frequency and stress Constraints from fluid control equipment Integration sequence and accessibility Manufacturing and integration costs rough estimates Your responsibilities will include Designing and layout starting with initial sketches and feasibility studies, up to the establishment of specifications for subsystems Interface management internalexternal between upper and lower stages, as well as structures and equipment Defining envelopes, interfaces and geometrical tolerances for all subsystems in the interface specifications Leading negotiations as regards designtocost and industrialisation aspects with subcontractors Taking over the responsibility for writing documents in English, e.g. design justification files or design or procurement specifications We are looking for candidates with the following skills University degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, aerospace, informatics or equivalent Experience in technical analysis of aerospace systems as well as the preparation of logic of developments Several years of experience in designing and the analysis of aerospace components or equivalent complex systems of the aerospace technics Routine in dealing with development tools SW and HW Good understanding of the theoretical description of technical engineering problems Several years of experience in team management First experience in project management Profound experience in using 3D CAD tool Catia V5 or similar and data management systems VPM, Primes or similar Working in teams, potential to buildup and lead a team, experienced with national and international subcontractors and the ability to carry out technical negotiations Fluent negotiation level of German and English, French would be desirable If you are interested in this position, please apply online via www.jobs.eads.com.
