Senior EEE Component Engineer

For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced EEE Component Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Space Component Evaluation and Radiation Effects Section within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. As Senior Component Engineer you will report to the Head of the Section. The main duties include Coordinate the activities of the laboratory including the work of the laboratory team members and ensure a high standard of work and outputs. Provide administrative support to lab activities. Provide monthly status reports to the Head of the Section. Maintain a database of all laboratories tasks, manpower, equipment, etc. Provide inputs on requirements for investments in laboratory equipment, software and computing provisions. Provide expertise in the field of EEE components, materials and processes investigations. Carry out analyses on EEE components, materials and processes. Followup on the production of Analysis Reports by team members and consistency check for adherence to technical procedure. Carry out Failure Analysis tasks and other analysis tasks as required. Prepare reports on the analysis tasks as required. Support and advice concerning the performance of analysis tasks subcontracted to external laboratories. Provide related technical support on EEE components to ESA projects and other TEC Directorate divisions in the area EEE components and failure investigation. Provide technical input to the formulation, review and maintenance of the technical standards and specifications relating to test methods for component qualification and analysis. Support ISO certification activities. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree or PhD in ElectricalElectronic Engineering or solid state Physics or related specialization. At least 10 years of relevant professional work experience, ideally acquired in the space industry. Demonstrated background and experience in EEE component technologies in terms of constituent materials, production technology, test equipment, test tools, test methods and standards industrial and standardisation bodies, laboratory techniques, laboratory equipment, laboratory work and procedures including common health and safety regulations. Proficiency in EEE component electrical measurement techniques is required. Knowledge of general component laboratory practices is mandatory. Desirable Specific expertise in at least 4 of the following fields is required, the remainder are desirable Passive Components Discrete Semiconductors for RF and nonRF Complex Microcircuits for Digital, Analog, Mixed Signal and Microwave Hybrid Technology Micropackaging Optoelectronics Soft skills A good command of the English language is necessary.
