Senior Engineer, Cloud and System Security

In this position you are responsible for translating advanced security requirements into comprehensive effective and efficient technical security concepts. You will manage and advise project and BizDevOps teams to deliver resilient solutions, and you will autonomously steer and deliver complex cyber security implementation projects and design, implement, and automate advanced cloud, system, and application security controls. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Translate advanced security requirements, threats, vulnerabilities, and security risks into comprehensive effective and efficient technical security concepts in line with industry and governmental security standards that effectively mitigate security related risks, while accommodating complex operational needs in complex hybrid infrastructures Manage and advise architects and BizDevOps teams on effective and efficient cyber security strategies, architectures, and technical security controls Run complex cyber security implementation projects Design, implement and automate advanced cloud, system and application security controls leveraging best of breed and cloud native state of the art security technologies Define and ensure security risk management throughout the system life cycle Perform technical security assessments and audits of information systems, applications and infrastructures and recommend efficient and effective mitigation strategies Proactively evaluate emerging risks and advise on and implement effective risk mitigations and stateoftheart security concepts Support security incident response, focussing on preventions, containment, eradication, and recovery of information systems COMPETENCIES Independent, passionate and selfmotivated with proven ability to deliver on complex and time critical tasksprojects Effective project management skills, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and steer crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Sound data research and testing skills Innovative, result, solution and stakeholderoriented mindset Proficient written and verbal communication skills ability to explain security rationales and controls to nontechnical audiences Passionate team player, motivated to work in an international environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams Versatile and able to grasp new concepts and technologies quickly QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 7 years experience in diverse and fast changing environments Sound, handson knowledge of assessing and managing system security risks, requirement specification, security concept and design, control implementation, specification of secure configuration standards, assessment of security controls and vulnerabilities Experience with MS Azure, Office 365, Azure Information Protection, Security Center, Cloud App Security, Microsoft Defender for O365, Defender for Identities, Intune, Application Gateway, Security and Compliance, Azure DevOps MS Azure Operating Systems, including a clear understanding of their vulnerabilities and how to securely design and implement them, ensuring security standards, best practices Automation using common scripting languages and interfaces MMNK only keep if essential in Azure Identity and Access Management and Strong Authentication Systems MITRE ATTCK framework for Enterprise and Cloud, attacker techniques and how to mitigate them in complex environments Public Key Infrastructure including HSM Privileged Access Management and password vault solutions Malware protection, Enterprise Detection and Response and Hostbased Intrusion Prevention Systems, understanding vulnerability, compliance, and patch management solutions Relevant product and general security certifications OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS COMMENTS Fluency in English Willingness to travel internationally Willingness to perform oncall duty as required Candidate must be willing to undergo a security clearance procedure as this position might require holding security clearance SES is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer APPLY httpscareers.ses.comjobManassas28Senior29Engineer2CCloudandSystemSecurityVA20108667569801
