Senior Engineer mf Ref.Nr. 158843 The Mission Galileo, Europes global navigation satellite system, will provide a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. The Galileo space segment, eventually consisting of 30 spacecraft, will be controlled from the Galileo control centres in Germany and Italy. The ground network has requirements for robust redundancy and security, in keeping with its role in supporting lifecritical applications, such as airplane navigation. The Challenge We are looking for a senior networking engineer with knowledge of the Galileo network to monitor the endtoend system engineering from the ground control centres to the spacecraft, thereby ensuring readiness of all related infrastructure and operational products for live operations. Typical tasks are Overseeing the development of ground, mission and spacecraft data dissemination networks Coordinating network operations preparation and validation supporting network operation execution Liaising between customers and network providers Managing system engineering and deployment activities Coordinating site and network acceptance The position will be located at our customers site in Munich, and include frequent travel in the Munich area and to Fucino near Rome. This is a fulltime position, starting as soon as possible. Your Qualifications Essential qualifications A degree in telecommunications electronics informatics or closely related discipline or other suitable qualification Familiarity with the Galileo network 58 years professional experience in networking systems engineering andor ground segment operations, ideally collected in an international environment mission Experience in the assembly, integration and verification or the operation of ground network systems Technical management experience Good communication and liaising skills in English Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Citizenship in a NATO country, as a German security clearance is required Desirable qualifications Experience with ESA programs, especially EGNOS Experience in technical monitoring of a major space project procurement Some knowledge of German andor Italian Terma offers At Terma, we consider skilled employees, enthusiasm and job satisfaction as the very foundation of our success and as a prerequisite for the development of the bestinclass solutions that Terma provides.
