DEIMOS is selecting one senior engineer to be integrated in the Mission Analysis Competence Centres of the Flight Systems Business Unit at our British branch, to support new growth areas in Mission Analysis. The work of the Mission Analysis Competence Centre is oriented to the design, development, specification and validation of mission concepts and SW tools, for several scenarios, from interplanetary, Earth observation, scientific, navigation. Opportunities to perform onsite collocations in ESA sites ESTEC, ESOC might be proposed to the candidate. Main Duties The following types of responsibilities are envisioned Development of novel MA tools to support the Mission Engineering processese.g. launchers, suborbital and reentry vehicles, satellite rendezvous, active debris removal, Earth observation, navigation Involvement in Mission Engineering and RD projects Education Required A recognized engineering degree Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic or a related degree e.g. Physics Desired Postgraduate studies M.Sc or Ph.D with a focus on aeronautical aerospace engineering and providing a solid background in at least two of the following Flight orbital dynamics Trajectory optimisation low thrust will be an asset. Simulation design, execution and analysis for satellite and constellations Monte Carlo, statistical processing Knowledge of GNSS principles Professional Experience Required Engineer with at least 4 year experience in the practical application of the domains relevant to the post relevant M.Sc PhD studies would also be considered. The position will be tailored to the level of experience and additional industrial experience would be viewed very positively. Technical Requirements Required The following capabilities are required for the post Solid theoretical background in one or more of the following areas flightorbital dynamics, optimisation. Practical experience in satellite navigation experience in EGNSS programmes is welcome Knowledge of Linux environment and good programming skills Personal Skills Capability to integrate in and work within a team Initiative Autonomy and selfdevelopment Responsibility towards the customer and colleagues Willing to travel frequently and to spend time periods collocated in different DEIMOS branches
