Serco and Proud Make a difference every day. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Administrator, based in North Italy. Main Responsibilities The right candidate will take care of the following tasks Configure, maintain and support local and wide area networks, including the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and other network devices. Perform and coordinate effective installation and configuration of network equipment and provides connectivity for new systems. Perform and coordinate effective installation and configuration of IP Telephony and Voice over IP VoIP architectures. Identify root cause of performance issues utilizing problem management techniques and implement corrective actions. Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems. Provide performance monitoring. Evaluate the adequacy of system hardware and software to meet present and future needs and provides trend analysis to the team. Escalate technical issues to third parties, as appropriate. Evaluation and management of access permissions and privileges. Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed. Design and implement performance metrics and proactively recommend solutions for capacity planning purposes. Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to the network and IP Telephony environment. Reports status and flag issues to the Service manager and to Customer representative. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will bring University degree in one of the following fields Computer Science, Information Technologies, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related areas. At least ten 10 years of experience, in the field of duties of which at least six 8 years of experience as Network Engineer in a largescale internetwork environment with proven complex network management experience, five 5 years of experience in configuring and managing voice architectures in a ToIP and VoIP environment and five 5 years of proven experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unity Voicemail, and Cisco Unified Presence tools. Solid experience supporting EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS and VPNs.. Strong experience in setting up Virtual environments both on Physical and Cloud Paltforms. Strong experience in moving from Physical to Virtual. Technical skills Extensive knowledge of with Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unity Voicemail, and Cisco Unified Presence tools.. Extensive knowledge of network management, firewall and security on LinuxWindows environments. Extensive knowledge of voice architectures in a ToIP and VoIP environment. Proficient in network switching and signalling fundamentals to include SIP, MGCP, H.248, SS7, and preferably traditional TDM signalling protocols i.e., GR303. Good knowledge of Cisco ASA Knowledge of Cisco Firepower solutions Knowledge of Juniper Netscreen Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platform, Exchange solutions and unified communication technologies. Knowledge of VMware scripting reporting and deployments. Good understanding of ITIL practices and knowledge of the COBIT framework. knowledge of High Availability confgurations, installationadministration and tuning Relevant certifications in the relevant technologies are a strong asset. Personal Skill Excellent written and oral command of English. Knowledge of Italian is not mandatory but would be an asset. Capability of integration in an internationalmulticultural environment, rapid selfstarting capability and experience in team working are mandatory. Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones.
