Senior RF Engineer

One of our clients based in the UK is looking for a Senior RF Engineer. The candidate must undertake the architectural design, performance analysis, procurement technical support, test definition and delivery of Telemetry, Commanding and Ranging TCR subsystemsincluding but not limited to Transmitters, Receivers, Antennas and CoaxialWaveguide Feed Networks into companys geostationary missions. Key Tasks Primary role will be the definition, analysis and delivery of TCR subsystems working within the companys matrix structure Typical duties include Evaluation of mission requirements and TCR subsystem design Support to geostationary mission bids Authoring of mission specific Design, Development and Verification Plans DDVPs, and Design Description and Justification Files DDJFs TCR subsystem analyses including link budgets, integrated antenna pattern analysis, antenna coupling analysis, ranging analysis, frequency stability analysis, performance analysis EIRP, GT etc., satellite frequency plan compatibility analysis etc. Working with subcontracts manager on TCR equipment procurements including authoring technical specifications, input to statements of work, reviewing supplier proposalsprogress reportstest results, incoming inspection etc. Liaison with mission system, mechanical, radiation and thermal engineers to specify TCR equipment environments. Attendance at supplier reviews at supplier premises may include international travel as required Maintain subsystem mass and power budgets. Liaison with mission systems engineers on interfaces and to make input to system level budgets. Liaison with subsystem integrators who may be internal or external. Liaison with mission AIT engineers on sc level test plans. Authoring of subsystem test procedures. Review of subsystem test results and verification of flown down requirements. Periodic reporting to mission Project Manager regarding budget and schedule changes and management of risks Support to project technical and programmatic meetings Interaction with customers, presentations at milestone reviews and input to mission review documentation In addition to the primary role, other responsibilities could include Maintaining relationships with suppliers Input to future GEO mission concepts on TCR aspects Support to GEO telecommunications payload activities Qualifications The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Electronics with RFMicrowave electronics. Experience Proven experience in RFMicrowave electronics discipline is required, experience in space industry would be very advantageous. Experience of link budget analysis is essential. Presentation and discussion of technical material towith a technical audience is essential. Experience in managing subcontracts within the space industry would be highly advantageous. Experience in analysistest up to 30GHz would be an advantage. Experience in the following areas would also be highly advantageous Power Amplifier design, Antenna design, Software Radio design, EMC. Knowledge Skills Excellent understanding of RF communications systems. Knowledge of software and simulation tools advantageous. Knowledge of TCR subsystems and modulation schemes advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral communications ability to interface with customers and technical representatives. Highly organised with clear communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Flexible adaptable to changing priorities. Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects. Team player.
