We are currently looking for a Senior Satellite Controller to support our customer in the United Kingdom. Senior Satellite Controller Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a world leader in satellite data communications. It pioneered the use of high throughput satellites at the Kaband frequencies. Major organisations are now using its networks for cellular backhaul, IP trunking, complex government and enterprise networks and video services, as well as broadband. Experienced satellite controllers are sought to carry out satellite control activities, share their knowledge and expertise, and be an active part of the Avanti operations team. As a senior member of the Satellite Control team, you will help to ensure an efficient and effective team environment. Your tasks will include but not be limited to Carry out satellite monitoring control activities Generate periodic reports on spacecraft health and status Perform routine control system maintenance and backup tasks Provide first line response to satellite contingency and escalation to the satellite engineering team Provide support for operations preparation and development during occasional periods of day shifts Attend and support the Anomaly Review Board process as required by the Satellite Control Manager Implement updates to the satellite control databases Validate procedure and database updates Assist in the development of satellite control team procedures and processes Participate in system verification tests and simulations campaigns in support of new satellite procurement Assist in the training and development of new colleagues Suggest future improvements to satellite operations based on experience in role Support new satellite procurement as required by the Satellite Control Manager Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline Several years of professional experience in satellite control or engineering Good knowledge of satellite subsystems Knowledge of standard office software products Experience in the use of SCOS2000 or a derivative satellite control system is considered an asset Fluency in English is mandatory.
