Senior Space Segment Engineer Darmstadt, Germany, relocating to Noordwijk, Netherlands from 2015 REF. VN1410 You will be the key EUMETSAT representative in the joint ESAEUMETSAT team in charge of developing the next generation of MetopSG satellites. As Deputy Project Manager of the ESA Project Manager, you will cover technical and programmatic aspects during the Phase B2CDE1 of the development programme of the satellites. You will be a key interface to the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG Programme management with regard to the technical, scientific and programmatic baseline and its evolutions. In addition, you should be capable of preparing and executing the inorbit verification and commissioning activities, evaluating the health of orbiting satellites and applying accumulated knowledge to future satellite models and launches. This will require a degreelevel Engineering qualification, backed by extensive professional experience of space segment engineering, procurement and management, preferably with emphasis on earth observation satellites. Finally, you should be familiar with ESA procedures and development programmes, capable of synthesising complex issues and balancing priorities, and able to communicate effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.
