Working at the European Space Agency ESTEC site in the Netherlands, on behalf EUMETSAT, Europes Meteorological Satellite Organisation, the key candidate shall act as deputy Project Manager for the preparation and launch of a very complex and challenging satellite system, working in close coordination with the EPS Programme Manager and his team in EUMETSAT. He will have a major role in implementing industrial activities, monitoring their progress and evaluating the satellite performances. This is a high profile and rewarding role offering the opportunity to be EUMETSATs representative at ESTEC empowered to engage with our Partners CNES, ESA, NOAA, NASA and a wide European industrial consortium to ensure this challenging programme is a success. The successful candidate shall have a university degree, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline along with skillsexperience in each of the following areas Proven experience in Space Segment engineering, procurement and management, preferably in the frame of an Earth Observation satellite development Familiarity with the management of ESA development programmes and ESA procedures Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to apply these to the interactions with teams having different or conflicting interests Proven ability to understandsynthesise complex issues and appreciate conflicting interests All applicants must be EUMETSAT member state nationals, along with a good working knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
