Position Reference 035 RHEA Group is currently recruiting a Project Manager to support its activities in Earth Observation across a number of high profile programs within the European Space industry. This role will be high profile within the group and could be based in any of the RHEA offices in Europe although Germany base is preferred. This Project manager will need to have a good understanding of the European Earth Observation programs and the Space Institutions and industrial landscape involved in those programs. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include You will be responsible for delivering projects to an agreed baseline, while managing project finances, reporting, schedule and risks. You will have direct interaction with the client, endusers and partner organisations, so presentational and interpersonal skills are important. Managing subcontractors, from selection via competitive procurement through to execution of subcontract Management of Firm Fixed Price contracts and Fixed Unit Price service contracts. Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project Manages the change control procedure, and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have an University degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline e.g. Science, Engineering or Computer Science You have strong project management skills and the ability to complete complex tasks with minimal guidance and to work and cooperate with others Proven project management track record, including risk and issue management You have excellent client facing and writtenverbal communication skills You have knowledge of Quality and Product Assurance processes You have past handson experience in running Best Practice procurements on behalf of ESA You have experience with subcontractor management You are able to travel when needed The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience of working with space institutions such as EUMETSAT andor ESA, especially within programmes such as EOEP, MTG, and EPS. You have knowledge of Earth Observation concepts and familiarity with the Earth Observation datauser community You have knowledge of EUMETSAT, ESA and Third Party Earth Observation satellite missions You have IT service management expertise.
