This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Sentinal Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1623117 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer for our client ESOC. You will be part of the Sentinel5P SOM team which deals in the preparation, implementation and execution of the LEOP and Commissioning phases, mainly in the areas of platform subsystems and Mission Planning, but extended to other areas as required. Your responsibilities will include Support the SOM in the validation of the FOP in the volumes indicated by the SOM Support the SOM in FOS integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP and Commissioning operations support as required You will be required to familiarise yourself with the missions you will support and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the Sentinel operations. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks. Required Skills and Experience Adequate experience in spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including FDIR, in particular for the platform and overall view of the Spacecraft systems engineering Adequate experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Adequate experience in working in an operational environment Adequate experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Basic experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and preoperational phase Commissioning specially within the Sentinels missions Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Able to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Some experience with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Some experience with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Some knowledge of Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels Adequate experience using TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with MUST Familiarity with ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 08 August 2016 Start of Work September 2016 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
