Position Reference 153 You will have the opportunity to provide software engineering support in the developmentmaintenance or enhancement the SOC Science Operations Centre systems of ESAC. You will also support potential expansion of the current ESAC Science Data Centre ESDC services. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Design, develop, deploy, operate and maintain all ESDC Science Archives and Virtual Observatory VO subsystems, i.e. Archive Data products repositories Archive Databases including DB administrative tasks Archive Data ingestion and metadata extraction systems Archive application servers and middle tier services Archive Graphical user interfaces and web pages Archive Data distribution systems Archive interoperability systems, supported by VO standards Archive administration services monitoring, statistics, user management, Archive data products online visualization and analysis services VO tools and services Software configuration control activities associated with archive development. Unit and system tests associated with archive development. Participation to working groups, workshops, conferences and meetings where science archives and virtual observatory standards and practices are discussed. Provide technical support to archives and VO services usage. Cloudbased processing systems attached to the archives. Mobile devices and apps for Android and iOS. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality data analysis applications. Artificial Intelligence and machine learningbased applications. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent. You have at least 4 years of relevant working experience You have substantial experience in Java programming language You have experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript or other frontend languages like AngularJS Unit testing JUnit and UI testing selenium You have experience with SVN, git repositories and project management software JIRA and Confluence You have advanced knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL Databases The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience with Google Web Toolkit andor Vaadin You have Experience in Geographical Information Systems GIS Experience in Virtual Observatory standards and protocols, working groups, working processes and environment would be an asset.
