Software System Engineer MF The successful candidate will join the Software Systems Engineer section, whose activities cover Software engineering methods and tools, Software architectures and building blocks, Systemsoftware coengineering techniques. Tasks and Responsibilities Heshe will be assigned to the Electra Project where heshe will be required to monitor the design, the development, the verification and the maintenance of all the software elements of the Electra project. Specifically, the tasks will include Technical and programmatic management of the software products of the satellite project, namely SCSW, SVF, SRDB and DSSS Supervision of the development, implementation and verification from Unit to IntegratedSystem and including requirements definition Monitoring the coherent implementation of the Software products requirements verification plan through test plans, test specifications, test reports and Verification Control Documents Support the definition and execution of tests and verification programmes at spacecraft level throughout the environmental test and launch campaigns, including LEOP and IOT phases Participation in the Project Agency level Reviews and as well as lower level reviews in the relevant fields of technical responsibility Support the definition and execution of tests and verification programmes of the Operational Products for LEOP, IOT and OnStation Operations Monitoring the schedule and risks of the software products activities. We are looking for someone to start as of 03 October 2016. The position is located in Noordwijk, The Netherlands at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC. Qualifications and Experience The applicants should have A Master Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, together with extensive experience in the development of satellite platform equipment software in the sphere of telecommunications. Several years of relevant experience within realtime software systems and software engineering. Furthermore we are looking for someone with Knowledge of realtime embedded space systems is necessary with practical experience on realtime software, model based software engineering e.g. Rhapsody., cross compilers GNU, C programming language, realtime operating system e.g. RTEMS. Knowledge in onboard software architecture and more generally space system avionics is an important asset with practical experience with space processors e.g. Leon and related communication busses 1553, CAN. Experience in systemsoftware requirements, tradeoff, modelling of embedded systems. Knowledge in software standards space ECSS, aircrafts, train, automotive.
