It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for an experienced Software Team Leader has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. This is an important software development as part of a wider project to produce the next generation of RIMS Ranging and Integrity and Monitoring Stations for the EGNOS system. The successful candidate will report to the projectengineering manager. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Team leading a small group 45 of embedded software developers through a critical software development towards successful delivery. Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship. Provide software architecture and design expertise to the programme and develop others in this area Act as lead software developer Develop code under a hard real time OS Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software. Design, develop, and test software in accordance with established standards. Participate in peerreviews of solution designs and related code. Package and support deployment of releases. Analyse and resolve technical and application problems. Adhere to highquality development principles while delivering solutions ontime and onbudget. The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience of team leading within a complex software development. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Software Development ideally in a MissionSafety Critical environment Experience in Modelling Software Architecture and Design Software Team leading experience Experience in Software Verification Linux, CC, UMLSysML Good customer facing abilities and experience working with the European Space Agency ESA, System Prime and Subcontractors. Desirable Requirements Vxworks, PPC, UBOOT boot loader Understanding of DO 278 assurance levels AL 3.
