We are currently looking for a Software and System Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Software and System Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. Your responsibilities will include Analysis of the operational requirements for the EARS services Support to the definition and integration of the data handling and product processing systems for the new EARS services Technical liaison with the international partners providing software package Architectural and detailed design, implementation, testing and support Support software delivery, installation, configuration and testing Coordinate and define technical interfaces with the external partnersproviders Support the definition and coordination of EARS system evolution activities Preparation of design documentation and other relevant documentation Verification and validation of software and systems Support to the configuration management, maintenance and evolution of the EARS system Prepare and maintain of EARS procedures and technical documentation. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in computer science or other relevant field Several years of experience with design, development and integration of operational ground systems providing 24 x 7 services In depth knowledge of and experience with Java, UNIX and Linux languages In depth knowledge of the development and maintenance of web interfaces and services using Tomcat and Apache in a UNIX environment Knowledge of source code control system, preferably SubVersion Experience in configuration control, formalised software testing, system verification and validation Knowledge of scheduling systems communication networks would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
