Space Mission Project Manager

HE Space is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the development of a telecommunications satellite. You will join an innovative and dynamic organisation in a senior role, reporting to the Director of Engineering and responsible for delivering all aspects of the mission definition, design, procurement, integration, acceptance and delivery to the operations team. Space Mission Project Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities Your tasks will include but not be limited to Maintain and implement the mission project management plan Oversee requirements at all levels including the verification and validation and acceptance Oversee the spacecraft interface compatibility with the space segment, platform, launch vehicle, ground segment and regulations Be the primary interface to the satellite manufacturers project team Ensure that the manufacturer adheres to the procurement contract requirements, delivering to schedule, cost and performance Be the escalation path for the Ground Segment and Launch Vehicle Managers Lead and manage the project team, including allocation of tasks to both employees and consultants Responsible for all budgeting financial control of resources Management of change, to include RFW, RFD and CCNS in accordance with documented processes Risk Management in accordance with documented processes Proactively manage the resolution of major issues affecting quality, reliability, schedule, budget and performance Report to senior stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A degree in aerospace engineering or related engineering discipline Significant demonstrable experience of project management within the satellite industry Experience of working to satellite contracts, requirements, statements of work and test plans Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of managing relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to demonstrate assertiveness when liaising with stakeholders History of effective line management and team leadership.
