Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Spacecraft Avionics Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, in the Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Technology Demonstration Projects Section within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management As part of the System team of Small Satellite or Cubesat projects such as ESAs PROBA series of satellites, you will be responsible for the activities related to System Avionics, System Software and System Communication from early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Specifically Maintain interfaces with the relevant industrial Prime Contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and adhoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. This is a full time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is July 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar and a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional working experience. Background and knowledge in spacecraft system and mission design with high RD content. Expert knowledge of System Engineering and more specifically of avionics, software and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including mission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystem technologiesproducts. Knowledge ofexperience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards such as ECSS series to Small Satellite, InOrbit Demonstrator missions and CubeSat projects would be an asset. Knowledge of software engineering principles and onboard software. An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations is essential. What can Terma Offer?
