HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Structural Engineer Solar Arrays to support our customer in Germany. Structural Engineer Solar Arrays Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities Perform structural analyses at the level of the solar array and its subassemblies e.g. stress analysis, including thermoselastic effects Perform rigid body simulations using MSC ADAMS Establish and document the technical baseline hardware and software Identify safety margins and establish the compliance with performance requirements Predict test results, for instance for sine vibration and acoustic noise tests Analyse the variation with test measurements Revised the mathematical models in conformity with test results Flow down the performance requirements to lower level elements Contribute to technical solutions to customer requirements Coordinate, supervise and evaluate qualification tests at the sample substrate level and the level of the solar array panels Act as the focal point for the Windchill configuration management tool. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Ideally you will have an education as a structural engineer within an aerospace context We anticipate the successful applicant will have 3 years space experience and will be familiar with the space project lifecycle, especially the design and test phases Experience in structural dynamics Experienced user of the NASTRAN and PATRAN software Familiarity with configuration management, ideally including the Windchill tool. Strong German language skills are highly desirable Previous experience with solar arrays is highly desirable Experience with the CATIA software V5 is desirable Experience in structural design is desirable User level familiarity with the MSC ADAMS software packages is desirable Fluency in English is mandatory Strong German language skills are highly desirable.
