We currently have the following job opportunity at our offices in Unterfhring, near Munich Support System Engineer mfd ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY You will be responsible for the implementation of global monitoring solutions for the SES video services. This involves the development of protocolsdrivers to newly connected devicesservices, creating and defining templates and increasing the automation level. The current implementation is based on the product Skyline Dataminer. Initial focus is on video services, with the perspective to support the definition and deployment of monitoring solutions for SES Networks services in the future. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Maintenance and support of the global monitoring systems on an administrator level Further develop concepts for the monitoring of our services Development of drivers, connection of new devices and services to the current Dataminer system Development and maintenance of database connectors to other OSS systems e.g. Configuration Management Database in order increase the automatization level Creation of service templates to support the provisioning of new services in the monitoring environment Support of the global support system team with your expertise COMPETENCIES Profound knowledge of the technologies, products and workflows involved in satellite broadcast, OTT and network solutions Experience in objectoriented programming, preferable in C Strong affinity to MS Windows server operating systems Experience in HTML, XML, REST, SOAP, SNMP, communication protocols in general, and clientserver systems Profound knowledge of TCPIP networking, multithreading, Web Services and .Net Remoting Knowledge of MySQL and Apache Cassandra is an asset Knowledge of Microsoft tools, including MS Visio General understanding of software architecture concepts Willingness to challenge and continuously improve established monitoring concepts QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Bachelor or masters degree in telecom or ICT preferred, alternatively minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable position in the communication industry combined with education as qualified IT specialist, radio and television technology specialist or similar Minimum 3 years experience in programming Profound English language skills Good communication skills OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS COMMENTS Interface to all engineering and service integration departments as well as to the 247 operational teams in the NOCsMCRs Support of global OSS projects Close alignment with service assurance systems group What to expect?
