Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of HRE Human Space Flight Exploration. Overview The post holder will support the lead system engineering function in the Robotics Future Projects Team HREXSR for thePhase AB1 Study of the ESPRIT element of the exploration LOPGLunar Outpost Platform Gateway, and its continuation. ESPRIT is the European System Providing Refuelling, Infrastructure and Telecommunication and includes a science airlock. In his support role to the system engineering function specific duties include Definition of the ESPRIT functional and design requirements. Technical definition of the ESPRIT design baseline until successful System Requirements Review SRR and identification of activitiesneeded to proceed toward Preliminary Design Review PDR with focuson specific subsystems. Identification and followup of predevelopment tasks for ESPRIT asagreed with the Study Contractors. Architecture definition of the LOPGGateway in coordination withNASA, CSA, JAXA, RSA and possible future commercial enterprisesUSindustries. Development of interfaces with external parties, mainly other Space Agencies NASA, JAXA, CSA, who may be providing equipment for theESPRIT. Preparation of the ESPRIT ITT for Phase B2CDE1. Supporting the HREXSR and XS teams for other tasks, as required. Specific qualification requirements Master in Engineering or equivalent university degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies. Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalentqualification in physics or engineering. A knowledge of systemengineering aspects is also essential. Experience with operations,hardware and or software development will be an asset. The post requires candidates to be systemminded and to have aresultoriented approach. Ability to work in a highlycomplex project environment. Possess good communications skills and the capability of coordinating activities with groups spread across different sites. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class specified as E3a. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
