RHEA is currently recruiting a System and Software Engineer to support the Mission Analysis and Payload Planning System MAPPS at our clients premises in Madrid, Spain. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Implementation of new MAPPS features as defined by the users of the different Solar System missions, following the priorities set by the MAPPS SRB Software Review Board. Providing the MAPPS software deliveries following the existing maintenance and release procedures. Improving these procedures where needed, also considering the long lifetime of the software. Verification and validation of the software and execution of the test procedures. Further evolution of the test software, e.g. extending the test cases to cover new features and improving the level of automation. Provide firstline user support, e.g. helping the user configuring and using any new features, analysing potential bugs and providing fixes. Implementation of new MAPPS features, in the area of the Graphical User Interface, and in backend processing software. System and software engineering tasks such as design, development, testing installation, deployment, operations, maintenance with associated documentation according to the ESA software engineering processes. Daily execution of the software development and maintenance tasks, including the monitoring of the progress and the reporting to management. Coordination various development efforts, such that these fit into the overall MAPPS architecture, following the strategy imposed by the MAPPS engineering board. Participation to working groups, workshops, conferences and meetings where might be required. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in computer science or related fields Software engineering and objectoriented programming Programming languages CC, others Graphical User Interface programming Qt toolkit, others Software Engineering Standards, such as ECSSEST40C Software bug reporting systems, specifically JIRA or others Software versioning systems, specifically GIT or others Windows and Linux, others Linux and PCWindows environment The following skills would be highly desirable Java and or Python for GUI Experience with operational software development Experience on ESA software engineering processes and software configuration control tools and some scientific background How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
