This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESTEC in Noordwijk in The Netherlands. System and Software Engineer 1811015 Job Description We are looking for a System and Software Engineer for our client ESTEC. As part of the System team of Small Satellite or Cubesat project, you will be responsible for the activities related to System Avionics, System Software and System Communication from early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Your tasks will include Maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and ad hoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. Support development contracts regarding the above areas, as the activity technical responsible. Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and results. Development and application incl. Educational of System Engineering tools and models. Provide support to technical coordination activities. Required Skills and Experience At least four years professional experience in a relevant position. Expert knowledge of System and more specifically to avionics, software and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including mission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystem technologiesproducts. Knowledge of experience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards to Small Satellite, OD missions and CubeSat projects would be an asset. Expert knowledge of SC system and mission design, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering.
