We are looking for a System and Software Engineer E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Specific tasks to be performed As part of the team implementing the Luxembourg National Space programme, the holder position will support the implementation of technical activities, maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime Contractors or subsystem responsible industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. The holder will also be involved in the System team of Small Satellite or Cubesat project in activities related to System tasks from early definition phase to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. In this context, the holder will maintain interfaces with the ESA technical specialists for adhoc support. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned project. Follow up technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. General tasks to be performed The work covers System Engineering in all phases of spacecraft projects. A range of support tasks is required to be carried out by the Contractor in system engineering and subsystem domains, including early throughout implementation phases of space projects, in particular for small demonstration missions and education projects. This includes validation of design, support to implementation and testing phases, generation and monitoring of missionsystem level specifications. support development contracts regarding the above areas, the Contractor shall act as the activity technical responsible. Maintain interfaces with the prime contractors. Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and results. When supporting projects, heshe shall interface with ESAs project teams, the prime and lower level contractors. Educational of System Engineering tools and models. Provide support to technical coordination activities. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master degree in relevant study. At least 4 years of proven industrial experience in the field. Expert knowledge of System and more specifically of avonics, software and communication subsystem through the complete lifecycle, including mission designoperations, systems design AIV and subsystem technologiesproducts. Broad knowledge ofexperience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards to Small Satellite, IOD missions and CubeSat projects would be an asset. Expert knowledge of SC system and mission design, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries.
