Job Description For our client, the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for a System and Software Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Small Satellite Platform Unit. As part of the Small Satellite Platform Unit in the Projects Office, the holder of the position will support Avionics and space electronics procurements from early definition phase through to qualification phase. Tasks and Responsibilities Maintain interfaces with the relevant Contractors and subsystems responsible industryresearch institute for the assigned projects as well as with the specific support at ESA PA, EEE Parts expert, Support system reviews of the assigned projects as required and follow up technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities Early throughout implementation phases of space projects, in particular for small demonstration missions and education projects. This includes validation of design, support to implementation and testing phases, generation and monitoring of missionsystem level specifications. Support development contracts regarding the above areas, the Contractor shall act as the activity technical responsible Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and results When supporting projects, heshe shall interface with ESAs project teams, the prime and lower level contractors Participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested by project work, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and results Development and application incl. Educational of System Engineering tools and models Provide support to technical coordination activities. Requirements University degree Masters or equivalent qualification in Systems Engineering with at least 4 years of experience Expert knowledge of space electronics in particular avionics and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including design, development and AIVqualification Knowledge ofexperience in the practical application of engineeringquality standards would be an asset Expert knowledge of SC system and mission design, incl. system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering. What do we offer?
