SummaryObjective To perform system engineering tasks in support to the Copernicus Programme with focus on the Data and Information Access Services initiative, which shall provide data and information access alongside processing resources, tools and other relevant data. The DIAS initiative is expected to boost user uptake, stimulate innovation and the creation of new business models based on Earth Observation data and information. ResponsibilitiesDuties In general the key person will partly be located at our office in Darmstadt, partly at our customer EUMETSAT European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites. Heshe will work closely together with our customer EUMETSAT and contribute to the analysis, generation and management of requirements and related Agile methods applied for work execution with industry. Defining and contributing to the architecture and design of Copernicus related components will form one of the key aspects of role. A good working knowledge with Industry standards for interoperability is necessary to support and contribute to the review of industry implementations including extensive testing and prototyping. Additionally to the preparation and production of technical documentation and routine reports, the definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers will also be another major task. QualificationsExperience Minimum of 5 years of experience in the specific field of system engineering, such as user requirements assessment, system architecture definition, development activities Experience in the evolution of systems andor services in a highlyavailable operational 247 environment. Essential Skills Virtualization, cloud computing, orchestration, hosted processing, Earth Observation data access, Earth Observation data formats, Earth Observation data security in general systems architecture, Good working knowledge with Industry standards for interoperability OGC, Inspire, Software engineering. Software development including in depth knowledge of Python, Experience in writing formal technical documentation, Fluent in English speaking and writing.
