DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the operation of the Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The Project Support Office provides the internal service for the project management of the GSOp project. The Technical Purchaser is responsible for the procurement of material and service products, the selection of suppliers and especially the review of the technical offers for the Project Manager GSOp and the Head of the Project Support Office. The future employee takes over the following major tasks Requirements Degree as business engineer or aerospace engineer masterdiploma or equivalent, or comparable degree in engineering or natural sciences Longtime experience in technical purchasing in international major projects, preferably in aerospace industry Longtime experience in project purchasing with international teams and partners Broad experience regarding requirements and design of international satellite system architectures space andor ground segment Good knowledge in quality management and contractual law Very good knowledge of German and English Good insight into complex relationships, quick thinking Experience in contact with customers, competency in international sphere Responsibilities Development of the Galileo procurement area, coordination and planning of purchaser activities for major projects within Galileo in collaboration with the Managing Director Galileo, the Project Manager GSOp, the Project Support Office and subproject managers Cost analysis and target price estimation regarding punctual, costoptimized and product specific procurement in coordination with the business units Administration and IT Development and implementation of procurement concepts and purchasing strategies for major projects Definition of guidelines for the shortterm procurement optimization and research of development chances for new sources of supply in the market Definition and processing of rationalization projects for products and processes designtocost measures Creation of a secondsource concept to increase the supplier reliability Performance of buying price and benchmark analyses, makeorbuy analyses Monitoring of the progress and implementation of purchased objects and projects, that are relevant for Technical Purchasing
