DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the operation of the Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The Project Support Office provides the internal service for the project management of the GSOp project. The ILS department analyses and manages the availability of spare parts as assured in the GSOp contract as well as the availability of logistics support services. ILS deals with the international flow of goods from Germany through Italy, Belgium to the worldwide located ground stations and vice versa. The technical purchaser is responsible for the procurement of material and service products in the ILS area, the selection of suppliers and especially the review of the technical offers for the Project Manager GSOp and the Head of the Project Support Office when it comes to punctual and productspecific procurement at optimal cost in accordance with the business units administration, IT and CADM ILS. Major responsibilities include the selection of suppliers, obtaining offers, negotiation and accompanying contract design, schedule tracking and acceptance in consideration of technical, logistic, qualitative and economic specification.
