The technical project manager is responsible for delivering their projects to an agreed baseline, while managing project finances, reporting, schedule and risks. This will require direct interaction with the client, endusers and partner organisations. The incumbent is expected to lead on meeting the technical requirements for complex projects including full systems integration involving hardware and software solutions. They are expected to deliver on contracted project requirements in a timely and cost efficient manner with care taken to meet all legal and regulatory requirements. The technical project manager tasks and responsibilities will include Responsibility for ensuring systemwide coordination within an integrated project environment involving close working relationships with payload, system, hardware and test engineers. Requirements definition. Algorithm design and simulation. System architectural design. As well as managing project teams, the candidate will also take a handson role in tasks such as proposal writing, user requirements gathering, documentation, client presentations, testing and acceptance. Essential Skills Have a MSC or PhD degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years work experience in the space sector. Proven project management track record, including risk and issue management Experience of working with ESA, knowledge of ECSS and issues of quality and safety. Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration andor test of space flight hardware. This role is based in Harwell and will require full time attendance at our offices. This role includes the opportunity for some occasional international travel to client sites, especially within Europe. Starting salaries depend on the current level of expertise and experience
