BACKGROUND The ESA Education Office has the objective to use space as a theme to enhance the literacy of young people in science and technology and to motivate young Europeans to pursue a space related career. The Office personnel is based partially at the ESA Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in The Netherlands, and partially at the ESECGalaxia in Transinne, Belgium. In support of achieving its educational objectives, the Office offers In the frame of the ESA Academy, the programme for university students A portfolio of training courses, in all areas of ESAs expertise, delivered at the Training and Learning Facility. Training courses topics cover amongst others Space System Engineering, Product Assurance and Safety, Human Space Physiology, Spacecraft Operations and Communications, Gravityrelated Research, Concurrent Design Engineering, CubeSat Design, Space Law, Technology Transfer and Innovation. Support to handson spacerelated project opportunities in particular CubeSat mission design, satellite assembly and tests campaigns. As part of the STEM programme for primary and secondary school teachers, the etechnology lab, a didactic laboratory, offers direct handson experience by using space robotics and space science as learning and teaching contexts. DUTIES list not exhaustive Manage the ESA etechnology lab, including Design and deliver teacher training modules onsite and, when needed, offsite that use space technology as a teaching and learning context and tool for schoollevel curricular STEM science, technology, engineering, Mathematics subjects Design and produce classroom resourcesactivities on the subjects covered by the above teacher training modules in different formats classical printed lessons, practicallab activities, tablet applications and content, etc Adaptupdateupgrade existing teacher training modules and classroom resourcesactivities when required Use kitshardwaretools e.g LEGO, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc adequate for the roboticstechnology training modules and classroom resourcesactivities described above Manage the teacher training calendar and, when applicable, school visits Contribute to the procurement actions for material items and services needed to implement the activities the daily management of the infrastructures the logistics associated to the activities Coordinate closely with the other Didactics experts of the Unit and actively participate, in the area of concern, in the works of the ESAESERO Working Groups as far as the joint didactics design, production and teacher training delivery are concerned Collaborate with the ESERO European Space Education Resource Office Project Coordinator for the promotion of the teacher training sessions to the benefit of the whole ESERO network Contribute to the design and, where applicable, manage the implementation of ESA school projects on the subject of technology Support the outreach, promotion and dissemination of ESA education activities in the area of concern, making use of the appropriate channels and in compliance with ESA Education outreach guidelines and procedures Contribute in general to the design and implementation of ESA STEM informal education projects at school level, also addressing role modelling, STEMspace careers and gender issues Respond to the direct contacts and external requests from education partners and the European education community Support in general the activities of the STEM Education and Outreach Unit on need Support the evaluation of education activities against Key Performance Indicators in the area of concern. SPECIFIC COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS As per job class, with a university Master degree, or equivalent, in Engineering or Science Experience, knowledge and skills in the use of electronics, robotics or technological material computer programming skills knowledge of programming platforms for education, such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino, are an asset Knowledge of STEM school curricula, with a focus on Technology Specific experience in the design and development of didactic content on technology subjects applied to school curricula direct teaching experience andor teacher training experience Sound knowledge of ESA and the space field Experience in international environments is an asset Project management skills and experience Capability of establishing and maintaining interfaces within and outside the Agency capability to respond and adapt to the needs of the European education communities Autonomy in the execution of tasks and ability to manage workload, identify priorities and strategic actions ability to cope with pressure, meet deadlines and deliver on time Creativity strong conceptual, analytical, interpersonal skills ability to work in a team Good communication skills, verbal in public and during formal meetings and written Fluent in English. Knowledge of another Member State language is an asset.
