(Telecompaper) Telefonica has bolstered its cyber-security offer with a number of new products and services, including a global strategic agreement with Microsoft to combat digital crime through intelligence sharing. Under the agreement Telefonica will share cyber intelligence in real time with Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit with a view to eradicating malware and harmful programs. In turn, Telefonica's digital security subsidiary Eleven Paths will contribute its experience in the advanced search for malware threats and other types of cyber-intelligence. The agreement was announced at Telefonica's second Security Innovation Day, held at its Madrid quarters, during which the operator also revealed that the digital certification and biometric technology of Spanish security company SmartAccess would be integrated into Eleven Paths. In addition, the company launched a new cyber-intelligence product, dubbed Path5, designed to counteract threats in the mobile world.
