Job Description Reviews current installation and devises plans for completion, launch and also ensures routine maintenance Operates and supports the Teleport Station equipment in accordance with the supplied equipment operating procedures Monitor the performance of all satellite communication networks and also ensures the traffic monitoring process is as per predefined standards and procedures Determines and investigates unusual system behavior, analyses the causes and takes the appropriate measures to take corrective actions Initiates service recovery actions in accordance with the recovery and escalation procedure in the event of observed quality reduction Performs tests to ensure system functionality and deploys immediate remedial action in the event of equipment failures at the site in accordance with the agreed procedures Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with the supplied maintenance procedures Supports site with Software and Hardware upgradesreplacements in accordance with the agreed procedures In the event of a disaster, takes active steps andor gives advice to maintain the continuity of satellite traffic Support Sales team in commercial proposals preparation and also liaises with external suppliers for procurement specifications Ensures that the process of uplinking signals and programs to the satellite are executed as per predefined protocol and quality measures Coordinates the measurement of all carriers on satellites to ensure no interference or interruption in QSCs transmission Works with the telecom operators and the IT engineers to ensure the continuity of the connectivity service. Coordinates with the Teleport Engineers for all technical issues required for the utilization of the offered services including optimization of equipment usage Ensure company maintains valid insurance policies, commercial licenses, trade licenses, valid contracts, agreements, authorization from various government agencies and regulatory bodies. Monitors Performance and training needs of direct reports in order to maximize subordinate and functional performance in the pursuit of functional objectives. Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through the leadership of the department setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance. Prepares the Teleport Department budget with the Network Operations Director and monitors financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costsrevenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
