Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in the aerospace domain. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Trainer in EO Data and Applications 2013013 Job Description We are looking for a Trainer in EO Data and Applications for our client EUMETSAT. You will work with experts across EUMETSAT in particular with the science, user training and user relations teams and partner organisations. EUMETSAT shall provide logistical management and support to the courses. As such your core tasks will be Internal workshops and information resources to support the ramp up of EUMETSATs data services. A headline user engagement plan, covering the key target audiences and the support they require to enable uptake of EUMETSAT data services Training plan covering the learning objectives, training activities and learning resources, evaluation metrics, etc. 46 courses per year that help users develop their skills in exploiting the data services, including on boarding of users to the hosted processing system. These will be classroom and online based. A range of selfpaced learning resources, information resources, how to guides and video, documentation and guides that can be used by users or other people teaching these data services. Supporting the training and use of EUMETSATs data services in other partner organisations events such as hackathons, conferences and trade fairs. Evaluating the effectiveness of the training and making changes as required. Provide helpdesk support to enquiries Required Skills and Experience Experience in training and supporting users in the scientific application of big data and large computing infrastructure, including work with earth observation data sets. Demonstrated ability to evaluate user needs and deliver appropriate training Excellent skills in delivering training, facilitating workshops and creating training resources. Track record in the exploration and use of novel data analysis techniques and the understanding of challenges associated with working with environmental data. Some understanding of the data products offered by EUMETSAT. Familiarity with the endtoend chain from data sensing to user application of a product Knowledge of scripting with Jupyter notebooks An ability to relate to user groups and subject matter experts. Experience of working in partnership across boundaries within single organisations and between different organisations. Solid experience of a range of earth observational data processing and visualisation tools. Knowledge of current trends and evolutions in data services including issues of governance and internet of things applications and how they may be relavent to EUMETSATs areas of interest. Excellent skills in service delivery and coordination of service delivery. Appreciation of the role of EUMETSAT for our Member States and in our support of Copernicus.
