Thorn Satellite Data Services require a Training Officer to join our team at ESAESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, and delivering critical training programmes in support of our 247 shift and day staff operating the ESA satellite ground station and supporting IT and telecommunication networks. We are looking for an experienced technical trainer with firsthand knowledge and experience of running technical training programmes, from requirement identification and course specification, through planning and scheduling, to course delivery. In order to be successful you will also need an excellent knowledge of systems engineering, preferably gained in a Satellite ground station andor IT network operations environment, and an aptitude to undertake technical training yourself and to produce and deliver training courses from that learning. Supporting this you will need excellent skills in creating presentations, documentation, and learning material for groups and for onetoone training. Applicants must Hold a university degree in Electronic engineering, IT, Telecommunications or related discipline Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and provided structured training Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of systems engineering in either satellite ground stations, IT, or telecommunications Have excellent communication skills in English C2 level in both written and oral Be familiar with and comfortable using MS Powerpoint, Project, Word Be comfortable in delivering technical training to both individuals and groups Be well organised and keep good records Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Be a team player but also capable or working independently without supervision.
