UPDATE 1-Cargill sales dip on low commodity prices, profit rises

U.S. agricultural commodities trader Cargill Inc [CARG.UL] said on Thursday its profit rose 8 percent, boosted by stronger results in food ingredients and grain handling which offset losses in its beef, oil and shipping businesses. Minneapolis-based Cargill said net earnings totaled $459 million for the quarter ended Feb. 29, up from $425 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
